Rachel

Rachel is an experienced administrator & Certified Bookkeeper - mainly working in small businesses across a range of industries including agriculture, technology, freight, engineering and automotive fields.

Rachel is a Xero Certified Advisor with previous experience using MYOB Essentials and FreshBooks. Rachel has implemented Xero and add-on apps including Tradify, Xero Projects, Xero Payroll, Receipt Stash, Flexitime and PayHero into businesses. Rachel loves working out the most straight forward administration processes for you to follow and will help you find the right application to make your day to day accounting easier.

Rachel's career has spanned a number of different organisations and industries. Starting in radio advertising and then moving to television advertising and finally advertising agencies over the space of 12 years.

At the same time, Rachel was a member of the Royal NZ Navy Volunteer Reserve training in the world of merchant shipping. When the opportunity came to fill a 12 month full-time contract with the Navy, she leapt at the chance to undertake a new career direction. After 3 years with the Navy, Rachel had achieved the National Certificate Level 4 in Adult Education & Training.

Rachel left the Navy to return to the private business sector. Her next roles included 12 months with a training design outsource company and 6 years with an insurance company where Rachel created in-house training materials, resources and learning systems.

During this time, Rachel also successfully ran a small automotive workshop with her late husband for 10 years.

Rachel's love of technology was a natural fit for her next role with a telephone software company creating and writing help guides for their software systems and mobile applications.

About 5 years ago, a friend asked for help setting up their business and dealing with the "books". This lead to another, then another and the birth of Conduit Bookkeeping in August 2017.

The Annual Excellence Awards recognises and celebrates the success of bookkeepers and their businesses, and plays an important role in raising awareness of the bookkeeping profession in New Zealand. 

The awards have been a highlight of the Institute of Certified NZ Bookkeepers Association's event calendar since 2013 and have been instrumental in personal and business development for our members. 


Renae

Renae is the Assistant Bookkeeper who works alongside Rachel and has been part of the team since March 2019. She assists with the day to day bookkeeping tasks required by our clients. Renae has a passion for helping others and sharing her knowledge. She thoroughly enjoys the challenges involved in her work and is dedicated to our clients business growth and success. Renae completed a Certificate in Bookkeeping in March 2019 and is a proud member of the ICNZB. Prior to gaining qualifications in bookkeeping, Renae studied finance and small business management and is currently putting these skills into practice. Previous to her studies, Renae spent 6 years working in the banking industry, employed in varied roles for both Kiwi Bank and NZ Post.
